Progressive Democrats of Massachusetts has endorsed Katherine Clark in the Democratic Primary on Tuesday, February 5, which will choose a Democrat to run for State Representative in the 32nd Middlesex District in the March Special Election. The 32nd includes Melrose and Wakefield; the seat was formerly held by Mike Festa, who resigned to become Secretary of Elder Affairs and has endorsed Katherine in the primary.
Katherine is a lawyer with a Masters in Public Administration from Harvard’s Kennedy School. She is a committed progressive who was one of the PDM Half-Dozen", legislative candidates we supported in 2004 when she ran for a state senate seat. She is raising three sons with her husband, Rodney, in Melrose, where she has been a member of the School Committee for six, years. As General Counsel for the Massachusetts Office of Child Care Services, she oversaw civil prosecutions of child care providers and managed the legal department.
